The ageing process results in the breakdown of fat, bony structures, muscles and collagen and elastin leaving you looking tired and older than you feel. At UpFront.Skin we offer consultations in regards to restoring volume, enhancing contours and softening fine lines.

Am I a good candidate for UpFront.Skins treatments?

We always complete an individual medical consultation prior to you having your treatment. This is to ensure you will receive the safest and most effective treatment possible, please be aware we will ask you about any medications or medical conditions you may have. Do you need a list to help you remember? Please bring it along to your consultation.

If you fit into the below category's we recommend you contact us prior to booking a consultation. (These categories do not always exclude you from treatment, we may simply need more information)

• Myasthenia gravis
• Eaton-Lambert syndrome
• Lou Gehrig’s disease
• Uncontrolled autoimmune disease
• Organ transplant recipient
• Receiving cancer treatment
• Under 18 years old
• Pregnancy or breastfeeding

Can I have my procedure on the same day as my consultation?

The consultation will generally be done immediately prior to your appointment, however your Cosmetic Nurse may choose not to treat for your safety, or you may choose to delay treatment to another day. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the procedure, please discuss these with us during your consultation.

Do I have to have a treatment after a consultation?

You do not have to have a treatment, and we will never coerce you to do something you are unsure of.

You can book a consultation, obligation free, at any of our clinic locations. All of our bookings are always obligation free, never feel that you have to have a treatment, even if you have booked for something specific, your health changes, questions or concerns are not wasting our time! But please let us know if you cant make your appointment.

Can the treatment be completed in one sitting, or will I need to come back?

Many of our treatments can be completed in one sitting. Other more complex treatments are restricted by the starting point of your health and skin, the number of areas required or the volume needed. Your Cosmetic Nurse will decide on the safest and most effective treatment regime in order to achieve you the best possible outcome.

Are the results permanent?

No, the results are not permanent. Every person is different and your body will metabolise the product differently from others.

The general period for some treatments are approximately 12 - 14 weeks.

Other Treatment results will often last as long as 6 - 14 months, and sometimes longer depending on area treated and product used.

Are Treatments painful?

Very fine instruments are used for all treatments and cause minimal discomfort for most clients. Commonly, treatments are described as having a similar discomfort level to plucking an eyebrow.

Other Treatments may require one of a variety of options available to reduce discomfort, we will discuss these options with you during your consultation.

Is there any downtime?

While there is little to no down time with any of the procedures offered; meaning you can go straight back to your pre-appointment activities, there is a possibility for some clients to experience temporary swelling or bruising, we will discuss the likelihood of this with you at your consultation. If you are taking blood thinning medication such as Ibuprofen, NSAID's, Warfarin, Clopidogrel, Aspirin, Apixaban, Dabigatran, Fish oil, Tumeric or Rivaroxaban please contact us to discuss your treatment at least 1 week prior to your consultation.

We do recommend that you avoid the following activities for at least 4 hours before treatment and 24 hours after treatment:

• No alcohol.
• No strenuous exercise.
• Nothing that is going to elevate your blood pressure.
• Most importantly – DO NOT TOUCH THE TREATED AREA. We all have bacteria on our hands and we don’t want that getting into the wound where the treatment was performed.
